How We Work With Your Attorney

If you have been injured in an accident, your focus should be on healing your body and not fighting with an insurance company. The legal side of a personal injury claim can be confusing and overwhelming which is why you should leave those details to the professionals! The chiropractic team at North County Pain Relief is very familiar with the details your attorney and insurance company require in order to begin your medical treatment. Here are a few examples of how we work with your attorney to make your case run more smoothly – allowing you more time to focus on healing your body!

Medical Treatment

Our physicians are board-certified and have worked very closely with the legal community. At the time of your initial evaluation, a chiropractor will document how your injury occurred, provide a diagnosis and offer a treatment plan. This documentation is necessary to prove that the medical treatment recommended is directly related to your accident.

An insurance company must have confirmation that the need for medical treatment is related to the accident which is why attorneys rely on a physician’s examination and statement to show proof that your treatment is directly related to your injury.

Our office will work with your attorney’s office to obtain the proper approval for medical treatment and payment of medical bills. This may require you to sign authorization forms for both our office and your attorney’s office. By authorizing our offices to communicate together we can work to ensure that your medical treatment is approved and you can be on the road to recovery!

Depositions & Court Appearances

As mentioned, the insurance company will require that a physician can confirm that the diagnosis and need for medical treatment is directly related to the accident. It is very common for a physician to be asked to be deposed or appear at court as an expert witness prior to the settlement of your case. An expert witness is an individual who has the expertise, training and knowledge that relates to your case, injuries and the cause of the accident. Our office and physician has had experience being called to testify as an expert witness and has worked closely with insurance adjusters and attorneys to help resolve difficult injury cases.

Dealing with an injury can be a stressful time – physically and emotionally. Remember that both your doctor and attorney will work together to help get you through this process with as little stress and pain as possible!
